SFRA Requirements
Freeway Airport lies within the boundaries of the Baltimore/Washington Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA). Operations within 30 miles of DCA require advanced filing of a SFRA Flight Plan, a individual transponder code, prior permission & two way communications with Potomac Approach to enter.
Pilots must have completed an online course provided by the FAA and have a thorough understanding of the ingress and egress procedures when operating within 60 miles of the DCA VORTAC. SFRA information and the online course are provided below.
